Ethanol production up a tick while stocks finally draw down

In Washington, Brownfield Ag News reports Energy Information Administration data shows ethanol production rose by a hair last week to an average of 937,000 barrels per day but growing demand to blend ethanol saw stocks shrink rather than grow. Stocks fell by 520,000 barrels to 23.796 million barrels after reaching multi-month highs repeatedly over the last several weeks. Ethanol producers are expected to crush 4.95 billion bushels of corn for ethanol this year, according to USDA estimates.
