Brazilian hydrous ethanol price parity at four-year high as gasoline prices jump

In Brazil, Platts reports hydrous ethanol prices have reached a parity against gasoline of 73.55%, an increase of nearly 3% in just a week, which is the highest parity level seen in four years. Hydrous ethanol prices are nearly 22% higher on the year and although gasoline prices have been spiking, their increase is only 16% on the year, leading to the growing price parity. Rising gasoline prices have led drivers to continue to fill up with hydrous as a result despite the four-year high.
