Spanish authorities arrest 10 people suspected of UCO theft

In Spain, Europa Press reports Guardia Civil agents have detained 10 people between the ages of 20 and 52 in Vila Joiosa (Alicante), allegedly related to the theft of used oil from municipal containers in the provinces of Alicante and Valencia and who were acquired by a company in Marina Baixa to sell it to others to transform it into biofuel.

The alleged perpetrators carried out the robberies dressed in work clothes in broad daylight and then sold the product to other companies. As part of the bust, two vehicles have been intercepted and numerous administrative sanctions related to waste management have been filed, which can reach 100,000 euros, as reported by the Guardia Civil in a statement.
