Bunker One teams with Brazilian university to study B7 marine fuel blend

In Brazil, EPBR reports a partnership between the Danish multinational Bunker One and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) will study the feasibility of adding 7% biodiesel to marine diesel oil.

The expectation is that the results are ready within eight months.

According to the company, a global supplier of fuels and lubricants for navigation, the objective is to take advantage of the Brazilian experience in the production of biodiesel – the country is the second largest producer of biofuel in the world.

In the long term, Bunker One hopes to position itself as a global supplier of marine fuel with biodiesel.
