Odisha signs pact with Oil India to turn urban waste into green energy

In India, BioEnergy Times reported that the Odisha government signed an agreement with Oil India Limited to convert urban waste into green energy as part of the state’s wider clean-energy and circular-economy strategy.

The agreement aims to speed up coordination between Oil India and urban local bodies for the timely commissioning of Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants. Officials said the partnership will make a significant contribution to the state’s green-growth agenda.

Before the agreement was signed, a delegation led by Oil India Chairman-cum-Managing Director Ranjit Rath met Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Housing & Urban Development Department, to review progress on six CBG plants under development across Odisha.
