Port of Rotterdam launches market consultation regarding import of hydrogen and hydrogen carriers

In the Netherlands, the Port of Rotterdam wants to accelerate the import of hydrogen and hydrogen carriers such as ammonia, methanol, and LOHCs (Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers) and is therefore launching a market consultation.

Although various companies are making plans, investment decisions largely remain pending. This is slowing down the energy transition. After all, hydrogen (carriers) are an alternative to fossil fuels such as oil and natural gas. Based on the results of the market consultation, the Port Authority will examine what role it can play in accelerating the development of hydrogen import terminals.
