In Mexico, Energia a Debate reports governments of Mexico and Brazil signed this afternoon a Declaration of Intent for the Production and Use of Biofuels. On a working visit to Mexico, the Vice President of Brazil, Geraldo Alckim, in conjunction with the Secretary of Energy, Luz Elena González Escobar, appointed the document at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE).
In a statement, the Sener reported that the instrument aims to get both nations to examine the best ways to cooperate in biofuel production, use, regulation and certification, in order to promote orderly and properly regulated growth in the sector in Mexico, through the recognized Brazilian experience accumulated over the past 50 years in the sustainable development of biofuels, such as bioethanol, sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), biodiesel and marine sustainable fuels.
