Mercedes-Benz do Brasil and Be8 running “COP30 Sustainable Route”

In Brazil, Mercedes-Benz do Brasil and Be8 began on October 20 the “COP30 Sustainable Route”. The starting point of this trip took place on October 21, at the Be8 plant in Passo Fundo (RS). After stops at the Mercedes-Benz do Brasil headquarters, in São Bernardo do Campo (SP), on the 23rd, and now in Brasilia (DF), the final destination will be in Pará, passing through Belém, headquarters of COP30, and following to Santo Antônio do Tauá (PA), in the Be8 unit, totaling more than 4 thousand kilometers traveled by Brazilian roads.

Two Actros Evolution 2553 6×2 trucks with BlueTec 6 OM 471 engine of 550 horsepower, the most powerful of the brand in Brazil, equipped with robustness kit, are being used for comparison of CO2e emissions (CO2 equivalent). One of them is supplied with Be8 BeVant biofuel and another with commercial B15 diesel.
The same comparison is made with two road buses The 500 RSDD 8×2 with BlueTec 6 OM 460 engine of 440 horsepower, also with the Be8 BeVant and diesel B15 commercial.

Mercedes-Benz is in the testing and validation phase to ensure that the commercial use of the Be8 Bevant is safe for its customers, efficient and regulated. Fortists who show interest in the use of Be8 BeVant and who have a fleet with the BlueTec 6 engine will receive technical support, monitoring tools and maintenance guidance.
