CIMC Enric announces commissioning of China’s first large-scale bio-based green methanol project

In China, Xinde Marine News reported that CIMC Enric Holdings Limited together with its subsidiaries announced that China’s first large-scale bio-based green methanol project, developed by the Group, was officially commissioned in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province.

With an initial annual production capacity of 50,000 tons, the project holds the distinction of being China’s first large-scale bio-based green methanol facility, according to the report.

The full value chain—from feedstock sourcing and production to downstream storage and trading—has obtained certification under the ISCC EU certification scheme, it added.

The project is expected to supply green methanol to key markets including the Greater Bay Area and Singapore, as well as other major international ports.
