Umeå Energi and Liquid Wind take the next step towards an electrofuel plant

In Sweden, Umeå Energi and Liquid Wind have signed the agreements that enable the construction of an electrical fuel plant in Umeå.

The signed agreements regulate, among other things, financing, advice and guarantees between the companies. With a consensus in the project, the parties can now enter the next phase and intensify the dialogue with investors.

When the plant is completed in 2028, it shall produce up to 100,000 metric tons of electro fuel per year. For Umeå residents, the initiative means new jobs and reduced local emissions. The plant will be part of the growing industrial symbiosis at Umeå Eco Industrial Park, where Umeå Energi’s plans also include a full-scale sorting plant and a plant for the production of sustainable aviation fuel.
