In Oregon, Allied Market Research (AMR) reported that the waste to energy market size was valued at $35.6 billion in 2022 and is projected to reach $56 billion by 2032, registering a CAGR of 4.7% from 2023 to 2032.
The Asia-Pacific region is emerging as the fastest-growing market, expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.1% over the forecast period. “Rapid urbanization, industrial expansion, and population growth in countries like India, China, and Southeast Asia are leading to a surge in municipal solid waste (MSW) and other forms of waste. This increase, paired with rising energy demands, creates substantial opportunities for the waste to energy market in the region,” the report stated.
“In contrast, Europe dominated the global market in 2022, accounting for over two-fifths of the total market revenue, with a CAGR of 4.6%. Strong environmental policies, advanced waste segregation systems, and high levels of public awareness have allowed European nations to lead in implementing WtE technologies,” it added.
