Inpasa to invest $630M in new ethanol production unit and expands biorefinery

In Brazil, Inpasa announced a new investment cycle in Mato Grosso, totaling R$ 3.48 billion. The package includes the construction of a new unit in Rondonópolis and the expansion of the Nova Mutum biorefinery, consolidating the company’s presence in one of the country’s main agro-energy hubs.

The new unit, located in southeastern Mato Grosso, will be the company’s 10th unit and the 3rd in the state. With an investment of R$ 2.77 billion, the project is expected to generate up to 2,500 direct and indirect jobs during construction and 400 permanent jobs in operation. The inauguration is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

The biorefinery will have the annual capacity to process 2 million tons of grains , resulting in the production of 1 billion liters of ethanol , 490,000 tons of DDGS (an ingredient for animal feed), 47,000 tons of vegetable oil , and 345,000 GWh of electricity.

In Nova Mutum, with an investment of R$ 704 million, the expansion will add 1 million tons of grains to the annual capacity , totaling 3 million tons. The additional production will be 350 million liters of ethanol , totaling 1.4 billion liters, plus 183,000 tons of DDGS. The project is expected to generate approximately 800 jobs and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026 .
